On May 28, 2026, PAC was pleased to welcome a delegation from ASTM International to its Rotterdam facility. This site is home to AC Analytical Controls B.V. The visit brought together senior ASTM leadership and members of the PAC team. During the day, discussions focused on the future of global standardization.
The delegation included ASTM President Andy Kireta and Vice President of Global Policy and Industry Affairs Jeff Grove. Also in attendance was Brian Meincke, ASTM Vice President of Business Development and Innovation. During their visit, the group received an overview of PAC’s business. They then explored the company’s deep engagement with ASTM and other standardization bodies. In particular, they discussed the importance of coordination among Standards Developing Organizations such as ISO and CEN.
A central theme of the day was innovation. Together, PAC and the ASTM delegation discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence. Specifically, they explored AI’s use both within the standardization process itself and in PAC’s ongoing product development. Afterward, the visitors toured PAC’s production site. While there, they showed genuine interest in the company’s manufacturing processes and its certified reference material (CRM) production initiatives.
Throughout the visit, the delegation acknowledged the support PAC provides to the development of ASTM standards. They also expressed appreciation for the ongoing partnership. Finally, they had the opportunity to meet members of the team, including colleagues active in ASTM Committee D02.
Commitment to Standardization
“It was a privilege to host the ASTM International delegation here in Rotterdam,” said Ortwin Costenoble, Global Standardization Lead at PAC. “Their insights and feedback will help us further enhance our processes and strengthen our collaboration. It was also rewarding to have the leading role our team plays in advancing ASTM standards recognized first-hand.”
PAC’s contribution to standardization runs deep. For example, PAC’s dedicated standardization leaders hold officer positions and lead task groups. As a result, they help ASTM International and PAC customers move forward together. Overall, this work reflects PAC’s broader commitment to drive standardization forward and to contribute to the safe and sustainable advancement of industries worldwide.
