Introduction to the Global Biofuels Standardization

Countries in the APAC region show more and more interest in using international petroleum industry standards. Especially for labs the ASTM or ISO standards for test methods become important and certification against those is a growing trend. This coincides with growing needs for biofuel specifications and knowledge around how such specifications work, are developed and what they imply.

As a participant in global standardization committees, PAC wishes to share its expertise in how the FAME, ethanol and alternative marine and aviation fuel specifications have been developed. The meaning and importance for producers, buyers or labs of these alternative fuel specifications will be explained.
