FIA analysis of hydrocarbon types in
petroleum products
Conforms to ASTM D
1319
Multiple samples:
A
single or up to six (6) multiple samples may be analyzed simultaneously
since each station of the system may be operated independently.
Ball
O-ring connections:
The
connection for each Upper Column is an O-Ring type ball joint which will
seal without grease under moderate clamping pressure of the Stainless
Steel Clamps provided with the system.
Convenient
column connectors:
Awkward
vinyl tubing sleeves have been replaced with convenient O-Ring compression
type fittings to connect the lower 3mm x 1200mm analyzer tubes to the
Upper Columns. Internal geometry of the fittings is optimized for
transition between tubing diameters, and a simple twist of the nut
releases the Analyzer Tube.
Column
support tip: The same
type of connection is used to cap the lower end of each Analyzer Tube. An
internal porous polyethylene support disc inside the fitting is positioned
at the very bottom of the 3mm tube to support the silica gel packing. Like
the fittings above, these Support Tips are attached or removed with a
simple twist of the nut, and are used over and over again.
Individual
pressure regulator valves:
Each
station has its own independent pressure regulation valve which may be set
at any point from 0-15 psi, and will maintain the set pressure independent
of changes in back pressure. An integral Pressure
Gauge on each station continuously registers active pressure on
each column.
Integral
vibration:
Electric
vibration unit(s) are mounted to the upper chassis so that all column may
be vibrated during the dry gel packing procedure, The 4-Station System has
one vibrator, while the 6-Station System has two. Vibrators feature
individual On/Off switch and amplitude selector switch.
Accessories included: With each system is included a 1ml syringe with
4" long needle for sample application, two plastic gel bottles for
convenient pouring of silica gel during dry packing, extra O-Rings,
stainless steel ball and socket joint clamps, two mounting brackets with
screws for stabilizing chassis, and Operating Instructions.
