PAC analyzers are used extensively in petroleum refining, petrochemical processing, blending operations and pipeline monitoring. PAC’s on-line portfolio includes cold flow properties, flash point, salt content, viscosity, vapor pressure and distillation analyzers which are used to evaluate a wide range of materials including gasoline, diesel, kerosene, naphtha, and reformate.
Performance and quality are the hallmarks of PAC analyzers. A case in point is the new MicroDist™ online distillation analyzer, which measures the distillation characteristics of hydrocarbon products in correlation with ASTM D86 and IP-123 utilizing the same technology of fast, accurate established distillation method used in laboratory analysis. This accurate reporting of distillation points greatly reduces product variability. The MicroDist measures the vapor, liquid temperatures and percentage distilled over the boiling point curve in less than 10 minutes. The MicroDist is used for process optimization, product certification and control of blending processes for motor gasolines, fuel oils, naphtha and diesel. In addition, the cell can be flushed automatically with the sample to be tested and a special thermo-destruction cleaning cycle can be programmed to be done at scheduled intervals. These features decrease maintenance requirements and waste. PAC also offers analogous analyzers for the laboratory.
