The Herzog SC 960 Salt-in-Crude Analyzer automatically measures salt content in crude petroleum, applying a low level excitation voltage and measuring conductivity, and thus eliminates the need of working with a high voltage cell. It provides a digital display of salt content in user-selected units (i.e. pounds NaCl per 1000 bbl (ptb) of crude oil. It eliminates the need for sensitive adjustments and interpolation from log graphical curves. For example, there is no need for the reading of an analog milliamp gauge and interpolation of the final value from a log plot.
